SNG Big Blinds

Filed under: Best Gambling, Great Fun, Web Of Games — @ 10:58 am

When you make it to the end of a sit ‘n go online poker tournament, the playing field is narrowed, the competition is tougher, and the blinds are higher. The pressure is on at the casino online, and if you don’t change your play to suit your situation, you’re not going to last very long.

For most of the online poker tournament, you’ve been playing fairly conservatively-folding less than premium hands, letting others call the all-in raises when you don’t have the nuts, and making smart, cautious moves. When you are down to the last few players in a sit ‘n go, it’s time to pull out all the stops.

Bluffing was a risky proposion earlier in the game, but since the blinds are higher, you don’t have time to wait for your hand to come. Since every blind you fold takes a significant chunk out of your stack, you need to look for every opportunity to buy as many pots as you can. When you read weakness, you go for it. If someone’s betting pattern makes you think that they’re not confident in their hand, scare them out of the pot with a big raise. Every pot you steal buys you another round of poker, and another chance to win the game.
