Protect Yourself from the Economic Turndown with Affordable Workplace Furniture

The economic market downturn could be a tough situation for any small organisation, especially with the rate of companies having to close in the last nine months. With the economic turndown it remarkably makes most company owners to decide to cut budgets for just about everything like office furniture. With all of this in mind, the majority of company owners are now looking at 2nd hand furniture or bargain office furniture.

No longer are the times when companies would dress the office in oak and pine antique furniture from the Victorian era and have marble flooring at reception. Countless now use flat packed office furniture. The brilliant thing about cheap furniture is that finance departments might well actually get much more for your cash than owners would expect. For the similar cost of an antique pine computer desk, organisation owners may probably afford to purchase a woodchip desk, leather chair, filing unit and office plants. If you are looking for office furniture, you can shop for Monitor Arms online at CFW.

With the British credit crunch, abounding companies will be seeking for ways to minimise costs. Assessing the expenditure that is not necessary will often help loads of companies free up money to improve their money situation. So next time companies are seeking to purchase office desks be fully aware that there is a more affordable option out there if organisation owners look for it.

Hearing Voices and Talking to Voices: Invite Them In

Hearing voices does not mean you are crazy. This is so even when a voice tells you to commit suicide or to kill someone else. People do sometimes obey those commands and this fact makes it urgent to do something about command hallucinations. Many common attempts to do something are simply futile. One cannot close one’s ears to the voices. Medications dull consciousness long before affecting the voice. Auditory hallucinations often persist even after electroshock treatment. Such treatment efforts are protracted and demoralizing to the person and the end point is usually an uncertain claim that the voices are “gone.”

An entirely different approach to dealing with voices is recommended by some clinicians that work with trauma, which is the most common origin of voices. They say, “talk to the voices.” They explain the voices as vocal parts of yourself that have their own ideas and opinions. If you are willing to negotiate with them you may be able to help them become less extreme in their efforts to participate in your life. First, it will help to learn more about their nature and their role as parts of you.

The Nature of Voices

Usually the individual voices have been constant companions and are recognizable to the person as male or female and young or old. Sometimes there is a single voice, but more commonly there are groups of voices; some with prominent roles and some just bit players. There may be the crying of infants or young children and there may be cries of other traumatized selves. When there are young, helpless children there may be older protectors. There is no limit to that internal world. Voices keep arising as consequences of traumatic experiences.

A person may hear only one or two voices. This “layer” often contains a commanding voice urging total subjugation and humiliation. It may impel the person to drink or to starve or self-cut, or it may demand suicide. The person typically reacts with automatic, trance-like obedience and may be saved only by appeals from another voice saying “No,” or the intervention of another actual person. One may come to realize that these voices represent past selves that are still locked in the trauma that froze their action. Other voices are protectors of young traumatized selves and some are keepers of the “secret” as commanded by a perpetrator.

The Externalized Dialogue With Voices

Talking with a voice requires externalizing the voice, which is best done by writing a message to the voice, addressing it as “you.” This will be the first of a series of taking turns, each addressing the other as “you” or by name. Now it is the turn for “Voice” to speak. You may have to write for the voice at first but before long Voice will speak for itself, your hand moving by its will.

The rules for the externalized dialogue are three: 1. Take turns. 2. Don’t interrupt. 3. Write complete sentences. The dialogue with commanding voices can begin with an exploration of their roles and their feelings. Usually their roles began as attempts to help the person. Unfortunately, even suicide might be regarded as a helpful solution for the need to escape. A successful negotiation with the suicidal part can substitute less extreme solutions.

Voices Have Quirks

There are certain quirks that characterize the majority of voices. Knowing about these quirks helps to understand the power of the externalized dialogue.

Voices are gullible: Voices arise outside of consciousness in the brain tissue that normally relies on the conscious language processing of the brain to provide syntax and leadership. The dissociated states of self with their voices may be desperate for leadership and for the missing elements of syntax. The practical consequence for voices that represent self-states frozen in past traumas is that their identity and roles are ripe for reframing by the individual’s present verbal mind. The externalized dialogue is a practical vehicle for communicating with those voices, influencing them, and reframing their identity and roles.

Voices hear voices: When someone negotiates with a voice that urges suicide and finally gains agreement to pursue a different option, this may not be the end of the matter. There may be another suicidal voice ready to fill the role vacated by the first suicidal voice. Separate negotiations with different voices may be necessary.

The best defense is a strong offence: The fiercer the voices sound at the beginning, the meeker they are in the long run. People may be terrified of their voices and also fearful for the safety of others if that fierce voice “gets out.” However, once engaged in the dialogue the voice becomes simply another aspect of the person and, more often than not, a younger aspect.

Voices can be wise. Some voices become helpers by providing a clear-headed response to the negative voices. Some voices exemplify a wise archetype or a role of “inner-self-helper” described in the psychiatric literature. That helpful voice can be called on during the course of therapy using the externalized dialogue process.

A Safe Self-Help Technique?

Many people have used this as self-help after going through a one or two-week intensive trauma therapy program and they reported no difficulties or complications.

Laser Eye Surgery? It Is Risky My Brother Says

I wear eyeglasses because when I was small I used to love reading books, still do but as a result, as my mum says, my eyesight is weak. My family members are lucky because they don’t need any aid for vision. I have been called many names for wearing eyeglasses, including “4 eyes” and “scientist”.

I have tried wearing contact lenses; they are one of the greatest inventions of the 20th century but unfortunately they didn’t work out for me. This is because I have a habit of washing my face and splashing my eyes, during washing 2 or 3 times a day with cold water. I lost quite a few contact lenses as a result. I stopped splashing my eyes with cold water when my mum threatened me that she would put cello tap on my eyes. Still those were not a good choice for me because I suffer from hay fever, and I constantly have to rub my eyes and put eye drops, especially in summer when the pollen count is higher.

Some people are lucky, doesn’t matter whichever eyeglasses they wear they look cool and intelligent. I am not one of those lucky ones I suppose and which my brother reminds me almost everyday. When I first heard about laser eye surgery I thought that my prayers have been answered. Finally a way for me to get rid of my glasses and contact lenses, I thought. Is it?

While laser eye surgery could be the best solution for someone like myself but this is not without certain risks. The word surgery itself is quite scary, but the good news it, it takes less then a minute for the laser procedure. The problem is you have to be the right candidate for it. Which means if you decide to have eye surgery and contact the laser eye clinic, the eye professional will ask you or give you a list of questions to answer. Based upon your answers and medical history, the eye professional will decide the best option for you. In some cases eye professional might show you the door, because it might be better for you not to have the eye surgery.

The procedure actually involves removing a hair thin part of your cornea for the best vision to be achieved. The good thing is it can cure imperfections in the eyes, nearsightedness, farsightedness or even astigmatism. It takes few days for recovery but after that your eyes are cured and you won’t need any aid for vision. The risk is low with laser eye surgery because the decision is not in your hand. You can decide to get the eye surgery but if you are not the best candidate your surgeon will refuse to carry out because of the risks involved.

Even if you are the best candidate the eye professional will still inform you about the risks involved after the surgery. Since computer is used for controlling laser to remove tissue, you can be assured that the procedure or surgery will be almost perfect. As with any other surgery, you must remember that no surgeon in his right mind would give you any sort of guarantee. Some people have complained about night vision problem and light sensitivity after the surgery but the numbers are very small. Some statistic shows problems of about 3 to 4 in 5000 so realistically numbers are very small.

Other risks of laser eye surgery, which have been noted in some people, include double vision, dry eye syndrome, I have mentioned already about light sensitivity and night vision problems. Some people would still need eyeglasses even after the surgery. These are the risks your eye professional or surgeon will inform you as well. You must remember to inform eye surgeon your medical history, any eye diseases you might have, even if you suffer from hay fever you must inform your eye surgeon.

So far the statistic shows that there is improvement in vision but not all of them who have got it done achieved a perfect vision. As the time progresses we would be able to find more about it in few years time. One thing is for sure laser eye surgery is here to stay, because the eye surgeons are much more careful and the success rate is higher and is ever increasing day by day. Another good news is the prices are also going down day by day as the people are queuing up to get it done.

A word of warning, if you have family members like mine then it would be best if you let them know about it after you have gone through the eye surgery. My brother did a very through research on the risks and negative side of laser eye surgery. Even he discovered few eye surgeons who wear eyeglasses themselves. I truly confess that it is impossible for me to win an argument with my brother. But this time I am sure that I am on the winning side. You can find more information on the following website address and I hope this would be helpful to you.

Magnetic Therapy for Arthritis Pain Relief

There are over 100 forms of arthritis and other rheumatic diseases. These diseases may cause pain, stiffness, and swelling in joints and other supporting structures of the body such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones. Some forms can also affect other parts of the body, including various internal organs.

Many people use the word “arthritis” to refer to all rheumatic diseases. However, the word literally means joint inflammation; that is, swelling, redness, heat, and pain caused by tissue injury or disease in the joint. The many different kinds of arthritis make up just a portion of all rheumatic diseases.

Rheumatoid arthritis, the second most common form of arthritis, affects other parts of the body besides the joints. It begins at a younger age than osteoarthritis, causes swelling and redness in joints, and may make people feel sick, tired, and (uncommonly) feverish. Rheumatoid arthritis affects people differently. For some people, it lasts only a few months or a year or two and goes away without causing any noticeable damage. Other people have mild or moderate forms of the disease, with periods of worsening symptoms, called flares, and periods in which they feel better, called remissions. Still others have a severe form of the disease that is active most of the time, lasts for many years or a lifetime, and leads to serious joint damage and disability.

Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis, especially among older people. Sometimes it is called degenerative joint disease or osteoarthrosis.
Osteoarthritis is a joint disease that mostly affects the cartilage. Cartilage is the slippery tissue that covers the ends of bones in a joint. Healthy cartilage allows bones to glide over one another. It also absorbs energy from the shock of physical movement. In osteoarthritis, the surface layer of cartilage breaks down and wears away. This allows bones under the cartilage to rub together, causing pain, swelling, and loss of motion of the joint. Over time, the joint may lose its normal shape. Also, bone spurs(small growths called osteophytes) may grow on the edges of the joint. Bits of bone or cartilage can break off and float inside the joint space. This causes more pain and damage. People with osteoarthritis usually have joint pain and limited movement. Unlike some other forms of arthritis, osteoarthritis affects only joints and not internal organs.

Magnetic treatments for arthritis

All types of arthritis respond to magnetic treatments because the arthritic disease process involves inflammation. Magnets reverse the inflammatory process, which in turn alleviates the main symptoms of arthritis which are:

1.Swelling

2.Pain

3.Stiffness and immobility

Magnetic therapy is not a cure for arthritis as there is currently no known cure, but it is an extremely effective drug free treatment for the chronic symptoms for all types of arthritic conditions.

However having said how well arthritis responds to magnetic therapy, it can be a little bit tricky to treat a person who has arthritis in multiple locations in the body. The reason for this is that as discussed in chapter 2 for the magnetic field to be effective it must be placed as close to the area of injury as possible. When a person has, for example, arthritis in the knees, hips, back and hands, it is not possible to reach all the area with one magnetic device. The person would need to place magnets on each area of pain to fully relieve the arthritic symptoms.

Possible treatments for this person would be:

1. To wear high strength magnetic straps around the knees, back/hips ( usually one strap will reach both areas) and wrists. Straps are both functional and comfortable, plus many contain lycra to give the joint additional support.
2. To wear super strength shoe insoles, that have a magnetic field that is strong enough to reach the knees, a high/super a strength bracelet for each hand and use a magnetic pad behind the back whilst sitting or lying. If the person does not feel comfortable in straps these are suitable alternatives.
3. To sleep on a magnetic mattress. The mattress will reach all areas of the body at once and the strength of the magnetic field is so immense that the magnetism will last for up to 16 hours after getting out of bed. This is the easiest way to treat large areas of pain and does not necessitate the need to wear additional magnets during the day.

Luckily there is a vast array of magnetic devices available today and most areas of the body can be reached with an appropriate magnetic device. There is often more than one solution available fort he treatment of multiple areas of pain and a trained therapist will be able to advise while treatment regime will fit best with your particular lifestyle.

In order for magnets to be effective they must be worn night and day until the symptoms have gone, if you are given a magnetic device that do not feel comfortable wearing or using it is unlikely that you will continue to use the treatment for the required length of time. With out 24 hours, 7 days a weeks exposure to the magnets it is unlikely that all of your symptoms will be relieved and you will feel disheartened and may even believe that magnets do not in fact work.

Debbie Shimadry is qualified magnetic therapist and pain nurse specialist. She appears on several BBC radio stations as an expert guest on magnetic therapy and is also the managing director of leading magnetic therapy company worldofmagnets.co.uk. The Healing Arts: 18 Things Healers Learn, #12; You Choose Your Dues

Life extracts its toll. Period.

No one escapes trials. They look different for each person. Trauma is relative. The child who comes from a very loving home and environment can be traumatized by something that would seem, to the child growing up in the ghetto, as less-than nothing.

Yet, it isn’t nothing. For regardless the cause, when your overriding reality is suddenly disrupted by something unexpected, the reverberations live inside you for a while. There is no set time limit on how long you reel from the aftereffects of any one incident. It takes as long as it takes.

The only variable in the equation is your choice. And it is your choice to compress, eliminate or expand the time it takes you to move away from the cycle of your pain. It is your choice to stay locked into the past or future, or living inside the present moment.

Working within the healing arts exposes you to trauma of all sorts. It is virtually impossible to insulate yourself completely from the pain of others. To compound matters even more, healers often must run through repetitive internal gauntlets of personal doubts about their abilities, skills, sensitivities, and, yes, even intention.

It can be an extremely vicious circle when self-doubt creeps in to the work you’re called upon to do. It can begin through any number of ways, but a sure-fire entry point is that place where you accept there are dues to be paid.

In some situations, dues are simply an exchange for services: In return for this, you must pay that. But in a lot of cases, the concept is expanded to include something like if you want to do this, then you have to pay just like that. In essence, dues are a statement that this and that are the way things are; for me, for you, for everybody.

That’s where the problem occurs. When you accept someone else’s definition of dues (or their way of paying them), as your own, you are living their life, not yours.

Just like with natural consequences, there are natural dues. But they are written in broad strokes implying that, of course, there truly is a passageway and cost to gaining any kind of knowledge and experience. Paradoxically, while dues in general are not specific, the passageways and toll booths leading to them are very specifically designed for the individual.

That’s why the dues for you are not necessarily the dues for me. Even though, for example, we both want to be good Doctors, it’s going to take you a whole different set of lessons than me to get there.

And don’t forget, this concept runs both ways. As you must free yourself from adopting others’ paths without taking the time to adapt them to your particular needs, you must also free others to find their own ways without imposing your definition of dues on them.

When you choose to enter into agreement with the concept there are dues to be paid that conform to a fixed, outward-driven criteria - whether this be with yourself or others — you are moving as if there is only one way to gain experience.

Where that falls flat is that it eliminates the factors of choice and your ability to affect both your circumstances and your attitude. These are among the most powerful tools at your disposal. To impose the concept of dues on them is to choke your potential.

As a healer, it is of paramount importance to live within the what is of the moment. That means maintaining freedom from any assumptions or expectations of how things will work out, or, by extension, what they will cost.

Believing that in any one situation you are just “paying your dues” implies that you’re enduring what is happening now, rather than doing something to create a new moment.

Things do happen and you do get affected. These are the dues of life. It is ongoing. Things happen every moment. You are affected every moment. And though we may guess at how long any one particular incident may continue its effect, or how that will specifically manifest itself, we never really know; not for ourselves, not for others.

Dues are, by definition, “that which is deserved, or owed.” It does not mean “that which has been pre-determined.” When we lock ourselves into a belief system that we’re “just paying our dues” we’re prolonging our time in a place of reaction rather than action.

Never should we discount the experience of others, but neither should we cling to it as something that defines our own paths. So pay your dues, to people, to situations, to your God, but only that which is earned or deserved. As long as it serves you, as long as there’s an even exchange, it’s worth it. But when the balance gets off kilter, it’s time to start to seek an approach that frees, rather than constricts you.

Exchange Rates Made Simple

Filed under: Finance Tips — @ 7:35 pm

Some people can easily get baffled when it gets to the heart of exchange rate terms, even so, the insider terms really is fairly uncomplicated. So whether you are a sole trader or a large company looking to change foreign money; below are some simplistic and elementary definitions that can without much effort wipe out some of the mystique & make the oftimes misunderstood process of earning additional monetary income with exchanging foreign currency a small fraction simpler.

Starting at the beginning with the most elementary of definitions an exchange rate is the price at which a particular nations money could be converted into another’s. Therefore, for example the rate would be the amount of Belarus Rubles you will buy in exchange for every Laos Kip.

Fixed exchange rates are of course known by the title ‘pegged exchange rates’; fixed exchange rated are used to stabilize the current value of a currency; especially at times when that specific currency is fluctuating a great deal; to support international trade and investment. If you are ready to exchange foreign currency check out this site.

Floating exchange rates - this is when a currencies exchange rate is worked out by natural market powers. This is a much more hazardous way to conduct business but additionally this is the scenario where you might often enjoy the opportunity to make a good profit,

You should also overhear talk of animals in currency; a bull is someone who predicts that market prices will go up conversely a bear is an individual that believes market values will go down. A bull market is a market where values are at present going up and a bear market is the opposite - a market where prices are going down.

A currency broker is a person that acts as an intermediary person between you and the market place - they are generally in a position to obtain you the choicest price at times when you are looking to buy or maybe sell.

The dollar rate is the value that a single measure of any currency has against a single measure of the US Dollar; this is a useful barometer for a national currencies value.

This is really by no means a comprehensive group of terms - it is merely a good starting point; but with a fraction more research you may be substantially on your way to now becoming a financial expert in no time at all.

Filed under: Hall Of Health, Help + Advice, Lawyers Web — @ 7:14 pm

Numerous individuals who experienced zimmer durom acetabular used in their hip replacement surgical processes are finding that there are negative ramifications that far exceed the natural expectations for recuperation. These poor people are experiencing a lot of unneeded pain for longer time periods, expecting revision surgical operations and increased medical expenses, and losing revenue by not being able to work at their regular businesses. Although Zimmer Holdings, Inc. is postulating that that their implant could never be imperfect and have basically denied blame for the faulth cup hip implants, many patients are filing cases against them and taking settlements.

During October, 2008 Zimmer declared that it had set aside $47.5 million to compensate for claims that had been filed against them. Many doctors are not 100% convinced that the hip device is as good as the company says it is. In Point Of Fact, when Zimmer offered on-line education to doctors in order to instruct them what was supposedly more correct techniques for executing the implant surgical procedure, roughly 50% of the MD’s refused to participate. Hence, the entire situation remains to be nerve-wracking for all patients involved, but none more than the hundreds of individuals who are needing a revision surgery because of the problems with their implant coming loose in the socket.

These hurt patients definitely deserve some help and compensation which unquestionably is why product liability lawyers are encouraging them to initiate the filing of a lawsuit. dr dorr has been paying out of court for some of these claims. Nevertheless, even if the settlement they are being offered sounds like alot to them, in many cases people are resolving too fast and without provision being made for on-going troubles if it happens again. Without waiting to find out what an actual case is worth, individuals could find themselves ending up paying alot more money from their own personal assets when more problems start to surface.

For anyone who thinks they may have a claim against Zimmer needs to start peering into it. If you believe you may qualify, you can visit a attorney to verify this info. Try to find a lawfirm that operates countrywide and focuses on processing litigation against malfunctioning medical devices. This law firm has gone so far as to setup a special division to uncover the details and handle the claims against Zimmer and obtain nice sized settlements for their customers.

If your orthopedic surgeon breaks the news that will have to have a revision surgery to repair your Zimmer Durom hip replacement device, call an attorney as soon as humanly possible.

Laughter is the Best Medicine

“Laughter is the best Medicine”, it is a common saying we have heard for countless years. But is it true?

Medical research has shown the body responds well to humor, it helps us deal with illnesses, the pressures of day to day life; we cope better at work and will change the quality of our lives.

We laugh for different reasons, what I find humorous may not necessarily make you laugh. But whatever makes us laugh makes us feel good. And for a detectable health reason…

•Laughter has been shown to reduce certain stress hormones, changes the flight-fright responses that occur in times of stress.

•Laughter boosts our immune system, lowers our blood pressure, and increases our oxygen levels.

•Laughter due to its’ physical nature gives us an overall body workout. So you can have fun, keep fit and stay healthy all in one easy step. Just laugh…

So we should laugh more, read comics, see funny or light-hearted movies, watch comedies on television etc. Whatever it takes just laugh and more fun.

John Kehoe said in one of his books ‘if you are not doing three fun things in a day, you are ageing quicker than you should’. Can you remember when you last did three fun things in a day or even a week?

A person I know has a job that isn’t overly interesting… you guessed it, he’s an Accountant. One of the things he does each day to bring a bit of fun into his job is to choose a word each day.

Now this word is not necessarily a normal word. It might be ‘Quasimodo’ for example. He then has to use this word in context in three conversations in his day without anybody suspecting. It doesn’t detract from his work but it makes it more fun for him. If you have a larger staff numbers, this can get very interesting and a great way to make the day go quicker and keeping the day light and fun filled.

But there are numerous things to do, both at work and at home to add laughter into our lives. Look at the number of web-sites that are dedicated to humor, many will send you a joke of the day, or a humorous quote etc. An email with a small laugh attached is a good way to start the day.

But make a point of seeing a funny movie, or hiring a DVD regularly to lighten the mood. Buy TV series that you find funny and watch them every now and then. But make it a habit; it is the habitual nature of things that bring us down. Changing bad habits to good will also raise the energy and laughter in our lives.

Remember, laughter is the best medicine. Life is fast paced, hectic and chaotic at times. Taking a break and having a laugh with friends or family is one of the best remedies you can have … go ahead just laugh.
