Bach Flower Essences And Remedies - The Seven Helpers

A Bach Flower Therapy Introduction and the 12-7-19 Method of Bach Flower Essence Classification:

Dr. Edward Bach, developer of flower essence therapy, classified the original 38 essences he used in his practice according to the 12-7-19 method: the Twelve Healers, the Seven Helpers, and the Second Nineteen. In part I of this series, the Twelve Healer flower essences were reviewed, along with the underlying theory of flower essence therapy - here we’ll have a look at the rhymes and reasons of the Seven Helpers.

Dr. Bach prescribed one or more of the Seven Helper essences to patients who did not seem to be responding sufficiently to therapy with one of the Twelve Healers. The Twelve Healer flower essences - Impatiens, Gentian, Mimulus, Clematis, Agrimony, Chicory, Vervain, Centaury, Scleranthus, Water Violet, Rock Rose, and Cerato - were developed by Dr. Bach to address what he saw as the imbalances of the twelve archetypal personality types. It is through the vibrational transformation of these imbalances that healing of overlying disease states can, in many cases, be initiated. However, Dr. Bach found there were individuals that did not respond to flower essence therapy with the Twelve Healers; this lead him to the discovery of the Seven Helpers.

The Purpose of the ‘Seven Helper’ Flower Essences:

The purpose of the Seven Helpers is to address chronically ingrained negative vibrational patterns which may be obscuring the primary personality type. For example, Olive, one of the Seven Helper flower essences, is prescribed for states of exhaustion, where one has been worn out by the struggle of healing or other life event. In this case, it may be difficult to see what the primary personality type of the individual may be, as true fatigue does not let a whole lot else show through - this real weariness may mask other personality traits or patterns.

Or it may be that the chronic state simply prevents progress on the healing path that could otherwise take place. Again, using Olive essence as an example - An individual may clearly be in need of one of the Twelve Healers. Perhaps they live in fear and are in need of Mimulus, and clearing this fear would allow them to heal. However, their fatigue is so great as they do not have the strength to work with these issues - in this case, it may be helpful to use Olive along with Mimulus to offer a more complete support from the flower essence therapy.

The Seven Helper essences can certainly be administered individually as well, particularly if a specific flower essence is strongly indicated. Dr. Bach had also written that if an individual is not responding to other essences, Wild Oat (one of the Seven) may be used: “If ever a case does not respond to treatment, give either Holly or Wild Oat, and it will be obvious which of the other remedies may be required. In all cases where the patient is of the active, intense type, give Holly. In patients who are of the weak, despondent type, give Wild Oat.”

Beyond the original works of Dr. Bach, the Flower Essence Repertory from Flower Essence Services offers descriptions of these seven essences beyond what a physician may see. FES broadens the application of the flowers to include their use for those needing change that may or may not be related to a health condition. This is an important point, as one may have tendencies they may wish to transform, but are at no serious risk. This application of flower essence is encouraged, for any support for personal and ’soul’ evolution is indeed invaluable. So within the following descriptions of the Seven Helper flower essences, a broad view will be maintained, so that the greatest audience may find a suitable essence.

As always with flower essence therapy, in cases of illness, treatment is not a substitute for proper professional care. It may be the case that an illness may have emotional roots, and that flowers can be of help, but one should not solely rely on self-prescription of flower essences as a cure.

And on to the descriptions…

The Seven Helpers:

Olive - As stated earlier, Olive flower essence is indicated where great fatigue has set in. An individual may be pale, worn out and / or exhausted after excessive worry, illness, grief or other struggle. The individual perhaps feels they do not have the strength to continue; that both their physical energy source has been spent. The Olive remedy allows one to tap into a new source of light, helping one see and feel a rejuvenation that comes from establishing (or re-establishing) a connection to a universal energy. This connection may provide the impetus needed for change in other areas, or may be transformative in and of itself through helping on realize that the etheric ’spirit’ body and the physical body are inseparable.

Gorse - This flower essence is used where one has lost will due to discouragement, becoming hopeless and resigned to one’s condition. They have perhaps been giving too much energy to the negative possibilities, solidifying this outlook so no progress can be made. This remedy restores hope to such individuals, so they may be able to have a brighter outlook, perhaps more joy, when confronted with life’s challenges.

Oak - The remedy for those committed to over-striving, regardless if that striving is having a positive result. Those in need of the Oak flower essence have great determination and strength, which can be true assets. However, at times it is crucial to balance this force with subtlety and grace. The individual may have even become resigned to the inevitable failure of their endeavor or succumbing to an illness, yet they continue with their efforts. Oak helps restore a balance, allowing one the freedom of letting up or resting when that is in fact what is required. An important essence in today’s hard-striving world.

Vine - For those who see their way as the ‘right’ way or the only way, Vine essence allows an opening in one’s perception for other points of view. An individual in need of Vine may have a domineering personality, insisting that everyone else follow their lead, including health professionals. Such a point of view can lead to great stress when it is perceived do not share the same ideas, and that harm, or at least lack of healing, may come about. Vine essence may soften this selfish nature, assisting one to understand that other points of view may be entirely valid, and in fact, more complete than one’s own. This allows the individual to receive needed support, often a key component in any personal transformation.

Heather - The Heather type appear self-obsessed, talking continually about their own situations and problems. Such persons are in fact truly lonely and often in great emotional pain. They may feel an emptiness or hunger, which they feed from the attention of others. This flower essence helps one make a connection to the Higher Self, finding peace and solace in the unity of all being. This realization helps one overcome the loneliness and disconnection they may feel, drawing on emotional self-sufficiency and true shared relationship with others for assistance.

Rock Water - For those that are too hard on themselves. Being reflective and aware is one thing, to go so far as to limit one’s (and one’s friends and family) enjoyment of life is another. Flexibility and spontaneity are key components to the ‘life well lived’. Further, a rigidity in lifestyle can prevent one from finding joy, an important factor in healing from many illnesses. This essence is sometimes indicated for those beginning flower essence therapy or those who do not see results, as it may assist in opening the soul to the energies of the plant realm.

Wild Oat - Health and happiness are very much connected with one’s ability to find one’s true vocation. Wandering through life feeling a lack of purpose can lead to distressed states, with addictions or despondency being possible results. Wild Oat flower essence may help align one with their true calling, so that both the individual and the greater environment can benefit. When one finds this sense of meaning, there is a strong inner light that can shine forth, supporting one’s own health, and the health of those around them.

These are the Seven Helpers, as categorized per Dr. Edward Bach’s 12-7-19 flower essence method. It is said that with the Twelve Healers and the Seven Helpers, one can support transformation of many vibrational/emotional states. At the same time, it is important to keep one’s mind open to possibilities; there are a great number of researched flower essences available, one’s that may be even more precisely applied to a particular situation. The Healer and Helper essences are however, a fantastic place to start if one is seeking an effective collection of remedies, suitable for the needs of many beings.

The Safest Techniques to Polish off Belly Fat

Filed under: Fitness Center, Hall Of Health — @ 5:25 am

Did you wake up one day and look at yourself critically? Finding your region around the middle is widening or forming a bee line due south. Is there too much girth for too little trousers waist? Are you figuring out that the wasted, horizontal TV time, eating fries and boozing has at long last caught up with you, and you are featuring love handles? Have you lost your six pack abs(six-pack–abs.net)? You’re definitely not the only one and there is good news for you.

If you want to get rid of the ab fat to reveal the muscle you should start some ab exercises (ab-exercises.org). Back problems can be relieved and this benefits both sexes. When your abdominals are strengthened your back is also fortified. Some simple workouts to lose those love handles are sit ups and stomach crunches.

With a focus on your lower back try lying on your tummy. Lifting your feet and knees off of the floor and gently kicking your legs as if you were swimming. Do repetitions of 15 seconds action, resting 30 seconds.

It is in all likelihood a good idea to reduce the salt in your meals. It is accepted to link salt and salt rich foods with heart problems and risk of stroke. Sodium can create water retention which can in turn add to the tummy fat. Avoid processed foods and adding extra salt. Drinking water can also help you to lose the spare tire. Water helps in breaking down stored fat, creating energy and also hydrating the body.

You may look at scaling down your alcohol intake as well. Im confident that youre simply as frustrated as I was to hear that alcoholic beverages do not serve the same purpose as water being that they are both liquid. Alcohol contains a lot of what is referred to empty calories which have a tendency to get lodged around the stomach area resulting in love handles. No need to cut alcohol out completely, just keep in mind how much you consume and cut it back; same method as adjusting the sum of what you eat.

Can You Wait Until Your Mud Settles?

Have you ever noticed how people become frantic when their routines are taken away?

It is commonplace to hear stories about retirees who go into a funk because they no longer have offices to occupy, people to see, appointments to keep, and decisions to make.

Kids, who have their iPod, TV, cell phone, and video game privileges suspended, find it hard to occupy their time with more than nail biting and moping.

What these suddenly freefalling spirits have in common is the inability to let their mud settle, as the Tao, the famous book of Chinese wisdom describes it. They fear silence, because something unexpected might sneak up on them.

And of course, this is natural, especially if we’re living an inauthentic life or one that is jam packed with superficialities. When reflexive routines stop, suddenly we’re confronted by nothing more than our inner voices.

Typically, these voices are dumb, if we’re not used to conversing with them. They recite trivialities, and cycle through the debris of our consciousness.

But when we’re graced with a suspension of the commonplace, this provides an opportunity to court our inner beings, as meditation practitioners know.

To be free of routine, beyond the reach of reinforcements, rewards and punishments, is incredibly refreshing.

We get a chance to ask interesting questions, such as “What am I?” and “What is meaningful?” and “How do I want to feel?” and “Where am I going in such a hurry?”

By living through the fear of silence, of stasis, of nothingness, we earn an opportunity to put fear aside, and this is a stunning achievement.

Knowing this is possible, at first momentarily, and then for longer periods, is empowering.

Our cars, 401k plans, business and social importance are significant only inasmuch as they have helped us to arrive at that special moment, when our mud settles, and at last, we can see through it and into ourselves and the infinite.

Everything You Do Is Right Day

16th March is celebrated as the day when whatever you do is right. This is a very exciting thought. I searched for the origin but could not find any clue about how this day began. What precisely does this mean - Everything you do is right.

Let me put my ideas across about this day. In our everyday life whenever we do anything, it can be called right or wrong. Many a times, not only others, but we ourselves are in doubt about the right action. This creates anxiety and makes every decision making job a tough job. This dilemma about right or wrong takes the pleasure away from life.

Children, especially very young children don’t have any such dilemma. They do whatever they want and they do it with fun. They enjoy everything and never question if their action was right or wrong. They leave that decision to their parents. What a tension-free life do these children live! Don’t you envy them?

For one day, say we drop our critical analysis of all our actions and do whatever we think best and don’t think twice about why? Normally, if you have to take a decision about firing an inefficient employee and save money for your company, the decision is tough. Either way, you feel bad. On 16th, if you take a decision about any such issue, treat it as right. This is a very good concept to feel stress-free in life. If we follow this everyday in our life, we can beat a lot of stress.

Think, deliberate, weigh pros and cons, and discuss. After considering every aspect, take a decision and then stop analyzing that again. Most of us do all this, but continue agonizing ourselves after taking a decision. Does this help? No. This is a sure formula for a stressed life. Beat stress in the way I suggested above and relax. All of us make our life difficult with our style of functioning. It is for us to change our style and enjoy living. Let us celebrate each day of our life as ‘everything you do is right’ day.

Top Ten Hints to Finding Reality

Time magazine has an article this week about how Reality TV shows are faked. Next week they’re running a cover story posthumously outing Liberace.

Apparently some of the ways they’re faked are by actually over-dubbing comments or splicing together scenes shot days apart or out of context to give the illustion of heightened conflict.

One little nugget dropped in the article is that the apartment the would-be Apprentices inhabit in Trump’s epic ego-fest is actually a set in a studio.

Okay, so there may be one or two mouth-breathers left who rush home for their latest fix of “Reality” - convinced that it’s gospel. But hasn’t the question on most minds been:

“To what extent do they fake? Is there anything actually uncontrived” OR

“How do they do it?”

So the question of the hour, the century actually, is:

Where does our “Reality” come from? Is there an absolute Reality out there? Do we make it up in our heads? Are our brains really giant Holographic projectors? Why do two people see the same event differently? Do we see what we want/expect to see?

To help you through this quagmire of existentialism here is your

The Art of Letting Go

It has been six months since I left the corporate world - and there are some things I will always miss. Like saying good morning to colleagues on my way to the office where I worked every day. Or getting caught in the excitement as we prepared for another big meeting or presentation.

I now realize what a huge transition this was, moving from a corporate headquarters with hundreds of employees to a small home office of one. Though I would never trade in my current life, with its freedom and independence, I lived in that other world for 31 years…

… And I still feel the pangs of letting go.

At different points in our lives we all experience the difficulty of letting go - not only physically but with our hearts and minds. We may need to do this with our relationships, careers or sometimes the place we call home.

Even destructive relationships can be hard to walk away from. Author Casey Clair, in Still Single, speaks of the emptiness of her five-year affair with a married man and “the hours of self-doubt and unhappiness” that plagued her. She writes: “It all coalesced into a wound that even I couldn’t ignore.” It was the pain that finally forced her to leave him.

We may also have to face the loss of our health or abilities through illness or an accident. When change is thrust upon us, it is often more taxing than when it’s our decision. Either way letting go is never quick or easy.

No matter whom or what YOU need to let go of in your life, here are ways to get through the process.

Allow Yourself to Grieve

Ironically it is your own resistance that causes you the most pain. The more you resist giving in to emotion, the harder it becomes to get through this transition. Stoicism does not lend you strength. It is more helpful to re-live the good moments of the relationship or situation you must leave behind and acknowledge what it has given you. Then let the tears come.

Share Your Experience

You may need to talk about the changes in your life. This is the time to turn to supportive friends or family members. Or even to strangers who understand what you’re going through.

Faye, a violinist and writer who suffered the loss of her parents followed by that of her beloved cat, says, “The one thing that’s made any letting go easier is finding people who have gone through exactly the same experience.”

It may also be reassuring to read about others who have been at the same crossroads - where the past is still so close you can touch it, and the future too dim and vague to offer much comfort.

A couple of times in her life, though, Faye experienced losses that the people around her could not relate to. “At the bottom level,” she says, “we face letting go alone, in the night. It’s really about hope.”

Learn to Accept

Children grow up and leave home; relationships evolve and people move on. This is life. As put by actor William B. Davis: “It struck me while I was sitting here; everything changes but the sea.”

There is a season to everything, and the timing of change is usually not within our control.

Looking back, you will likely realize that you also had no say when that particular relationship or situation began. C.A. Dowler is a career and business mentor. In talking about her process of letting go, she points out: “As I had no control over when and how that wonderful thing came into my life, I have no right to now hold on to it when it’s ready to go.”

There IS a gap in your life. What you feel is the absence of what you had before. Yet it is only through acceptance that you can let in the new, whether it’s another person or set of circumstances.

Embrace the New

When a toddler reaches for something different, she can easily drop the thing she was holding. Releasing is something we are able to do naturally, but as we grow older we learn to hang on tight. Part of the reason is our longing for the familiar and our fear of the unknown. We don’t know what lies around the next corner, or if we can ever again find the happiness we see ourselves losing.

It takes courage to really let go. You have to trust that what is now coming into your life is what you most need. Then take a deep breath, and let yourself turn another page.

Reporting for Microsoft Great Plains/Dynamics/eEnterprise: RW - ReportWriter - Tips for Developer

Filed under: Software Infos — @ 4:37 am

Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains is written in Great Plains Software programming tool: Great Plains Dexterity. Dexterity in turn was built with conception of graphical cross-platform transferability (in time - 1992 - mostly Mac and MS Windows). Plus Dexterity had database abstraction level (through C programming language). The result of such a shrewd future-looking architecture - Great Plains ReportWriter has multiple restrictions and drawbacks.

Let’s first look at the advantages of using ReportWriter:

• Seamless integration with Great Plains forms - the most typical scenario - you modify SOP_Long_Invoice_Form or SOP_Blank_Invoice_From and then print your invoices with modified form - usually with your logo and changed formats and positions of the fields

• Parameters Entry Forms. Each existing report (Reports section) has associated parameters entry form.
Restrictions:

• No Cross-Modules links. You can not associate report with the tables from non-related modules. For example you can not have Sales Order Processing (SOP) and Purchase Order Processing data on the same report (you actually can - but you need Dexterity programmer help)

• Custom Reports. You do not have parameters entry interface for your custom reports, but you could use restrictions to restrict the selection. Custom reports could be used to export data from Great Plains in text (and then Excel format)

Advanced ReportWriter programming

• Rw_ functions in Great Plains Dexterity. When you need cross-modules data on the same report (Bill of Lading, which you could produce on the base of Picking List) you need to move the report you want to customize into your custom DYNAMICS.DIC and fill the gaps with RW_ functions - these are allowed to be placed on the report with parameters

If ReportWriter doesn’t do the job:

• Crystal Reports. Current version 8.0 and 8.5 (July 2005) are MS SQL Server based, where Crystal Report could work at will and produce all the desired links - we recommend you to base Crystal Report on SQL Stored Procedure or SQL View. You call Crystal Report engine via Modifier/VBA - you need Customization Site Enabler license. If you are on Great Plains Standard version: 7.5, or Great Plains Dynamics/eEnterprise 7.0, 6.0, 5.5 or 5.0 Btrieve/Pervasive SQL/Ctree - you need to install Pervasive SQL driver (or Faircomm driver for Ctree)

Good luck with implementation, customization and integration and if you have issues or concerns - we are here to help! If you want us to do the job - give us a call 866-528-0577 or 630-961-5918! help@albaspectrum.com

What Exactly is Alternative Therapy and How Does It Boost Your Health and Well-being?

My first yoga retreat

I never wanted it to stop. It was a wonderful feeling of joy, love compassion and connection to everyone who was there with me. This was despite the fact that I had only met these people just three days ago. But at that moment, it felt like I had known them all my life.

This was my first yoga retreat. Four days of total immersion in the practice, philosophy and life of hatha yoga. We practiced yoga twice a day. Spent several hours in sitting and walking meditation and learned about the philosophy of yoga through talks and discussions.

We helped prepare and ate the most delicious home-made vegetarian food. I was on an energy high. I had so much stamina. It was the best short break I had ever had.

So why did it effect me so profoundly?

Our subtle energy body

Yoga works on our bodies and minds at many levels, and in a way that traditional medicine fails. Infact, many of the alternative therapies and practices, that have become so popular, work on our mind and body in powerful ways.

You may not realise it, but your body has a network of unseen energy channels. They follow the pathways of our nervous system and provide a constant supply of subtle energy that keeps us alive.

This complex mesh of energy channels, or ‘meridians’ as the Chinese call them, focus around 7 energy centers or ‘chakras’ that are vertically aligned from our crown to our abdomen. Yoga, and many alternative therapies and practices, increase, balance and harmonise this energy network.

Lao Tsu, the revered Chinese sage and chi kung master, said,
“When human beings are born, they are tender and soft. At death they are stiff and hard. All things, the grass as well as the trees, are tender and supple when alive”.
It’s this hidden energy system that keeps us alive, vibrant and healthy.

Shiatsu, acupressure and acupuncture

The study of our energy bodies can be seen in shiatsu, acupressure and acupuncture. These are just three of the many practices that originate from the East.

Shiatsu is a system of full body massage taken lying down on a futon. But it’s more than just massage. Many part of your body are pressed and massaged where the subtle energy lines meet. The effect is both invigorating and relaxing at the same time. My first massage was so good I fell asleep.

Acupuncture is a curative system that is accepted by the western medical establishment because it works. Needles are inserted so they connect with the energy channels in your body. By placing these needles at the right points your energy and health is both rebalanced and restored.

The ancient art of yoga

Yoga, stretching and pilates is about exercising your muscles and ligaments, but it’s more than this. The gentle stretching of muscles releases trapped energy and energises the muscles and ligaments the pose is working on.

Yoga involves stretching into a pose and holding the position while breathing in or out deeply and completely. There is a dynamic to this apparent stillness. You may be holding the position, but your deep breathing is moving energy and refreshes the parts of your body other exercise cannot reach.

So, the slow and steady movements free trapped energy, energise muscles and ligaments and refresh your whole body. At the same time you are developing strength and stamina while holding these poses.

Mind and body health

Traditional medicine and therapies work with symptoms, known illnesses and diseases. Holistic and alternative practices and therapies view illness as a warning that your system is out of balance. Many of these practices work on you at different levels, especially your subtle energy body.

It’s all about re-balancing your mind and body so that it works properly once again. It’s a ‘whole’-istic view rather than a piecemeal view.

Maybe that’s why modern medicine seems unable to cure some illnesses and health problems.

We have so much to learn.

Terry Dunn writes regular articles on how to use alternative therapies to improve your health. From aromatherapy to yoga, discover what it’s like, how it works and how you can benefit. To read more articles, visit his website, http://www.holistichealthtalk.com
