Affinion Group among Forbes’ Top Private Businesses

Affinion Group was ranked no. 321 in Forbes’ list of America’s Largest Private Companies in 2006. The list included prominent businesses and companies like Koch Industries, Cargill Food Commodities, Toys “R” Us, Ernst and Young, Publix Super Markets, Mars and PricewaterhouseCoopers, among others.

Nathaniel Lipman, Affinion Group’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), acknowledged that being chosen as one of the country’s top private companies was an honor. He further said that private companies play an important role in the shaping of American business.

The highly esteemed list of about 400 companies included businesses that reported at least $1 billion in annual revenues. In 2006, about 85 transactions came up with a whopping $89 billion. Forbes reported that this was due to the rush of deals that came in the last 12 months prior to the release of their list.

Forbes’ began compiling the Largest Private Companies list in 1985 and since then, several of the country’s, and the world’s, largest and most prominent companies have been named in the list.

Aside from landing in Forbes’ prestigious Top Private Companies list, Affinion has also been recognized as Connecticut’s third largest private company.
