What Is A VoIP Gateway?

Filed under: Telecommunication Portal — @ 10:02 am

The meshing of old analog telephone connections and VoIP service means that there has to be something that sort of brings the two together so that customers don’t have to spend a lot of money to get the new devices needed for VoIP service. A VoIP gateway acts as a bridge between the old and the new, allowing customers to use their same phone lines, their same phones, but still enjoy the benefits of modern technology. A VoIP gateway is essentially responsible for connecting your VoIP network to your public telephone network so that you can keep using features on your old telephone but also use the VoIP network.

The VoIP gateway aides in call detection and call origin so you can get the calls when they come through. Live VoIP requires that there is a gateway or bridge between the old telephone mechanics and the new VoIP technology. This gateway will become even easier in the future as the newer technology becomes more common than the old. The VoIP gateway is also partially responsible for converting the analog to a digital voice so that voice quality remains clear and true. Without a gateway you may not get your calls and voice conversion wouldn’t be what it is now!

A gateway and a router are really what make it all happen so that a consumer can take advantage of the great quality and services that VoIP has to offer. When you sign up for VoIP service you may get more information about the specific gateway that your provider uses and they’ll be able to give you more detailed and in-depth information about the technology associated with it. The technology is so fascinating that it’s hard not to stop and listen to all the details!

Take Your Home or Business Phone With You When You Travel

Filed under: Telecommunication Portal — @ 5:29 pm

Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone service uses a broadband Internet connection (DSL or cable) instead of the Bell System circuits to carry your voice to any telephone in the world via the Internet. If you’re not familiar with VoIP phone service, you’ll be interested in this new technology that’s giving traditional phone companies a run for their money.

Not only is VoIP phone service reliable, it costs 50-60 percent less than conventional telephone service. And most VoIP services give you free long distance calling throughout North America from any phone in the USA.

When you order VoIP phone service you receive a small “Analog Telephone Adapter” box that connects your telephone to your high speed Internet connection. This little adapter box, about the size of a paperback book, is linked to your phone number. Unlike a conventional telephone, where the phone number is fixed in place where the copper wires terminate in your home or office, with VoIP “the phone number is in the adapter box.”

This opens up some fascinating possibilities.

Imagine that you are traveling away from home or the office, on vacation or on a business trip. As you pack your bags, why not slip that little adapter box into your luggage? It weighs just a few ounces and looks something like a computer modem. Remember: that adapter box contains your phone number. So wherever you take it, you’re taking your phone number with you!

Now you’ve arrived at your hotel in a distant city - perhaps even in a foreign country. Most hotels and motels today offer high speed Internet access, and that’s all you need to hook up the adapter box. If you carry a laptop computer with you, that’s fine. But you don’t even need to turn it on to use VoIP phone.

Sit down at the desk and connect your VoIP adapter box to the hotel’s high speed Internet connection. Wait about 45-seconds while the box gets ready. Reach over, unplug the hotel telephone from the wall and plug it into your adapter box. Pick up the phone and - behold - you’ve got dial tone.

Because your long distance is free, you can call anyone in the US or Canada without toll charges, as long as you’re in the USA or Canada. Need to check on the spouse or the kids at home? Dial them up. Need to call the boss? A customer? Dial away. You’ve got free phone service, courtesy of the hotel’s high speed Internet connection.

But there’s more. Because you’re carrying the adapter box with you, your friends, family and others can call you at your normal phone number and you can receive the call in your hotel room. Folks back in your home city don’t even have to spend money on a long distance call.

You’ll recall that the FCC ruled a year or two ago that phone numbers must be “portable.” That ruling led to a rush of people who chose, for example, to move their home phone numbers to their cell phones, abandoning traditional landline service. That “portability ruling” saved people millions of dollars in landline service fees.

Carrying your VoIP adapter box with you is an entirely different kind of portability, and it’s unique to VoIP phone service. One of our associates based in Atlanta actually carried an adapter box to Moscow, Russia, where he plugged it into a broadband Internet connection. He proceeded to dial an Atlanta number to speak to his wife from eight time zones away with no long distance charges whatsoever.

The telephone industry is evolving and VoIP services are leading the way. If you’ve not yet experienced the flexibility, economy and quality service you can get from VoIP, perhaps it’s time to jump on the VoIP bandwagon and join the evolution.

Making Love in Virtual Reality

Filed under: Universe Of Videos — @ 7:14 pm

What will making love be like in the future? Will phone sex be totally out and 3D long distance love affairs totally in? What if you spouse is an astronaut on a space mission or over sees protecting freedom and democracy against evil dictators and International State Sponsored Murderous Terrorists; then what? What if you spouse dies, will you still be able to feel them close by using of virtual reality in 3D Holographic Full Motion Video in your bedroom?

What will these technologies bring us in the future? Will we welcome their gifts or will we condemn them as perverted, immoral or unacceptable pornography in the face of all that is holy with God almighty? Will we make laws against certain uses, with politicians telling us what we can and cannot view or will we simply let the judges decide since well, “they’ll know it when they see it?”

Those who have been following such research and development know that Holographic Technologies are getting closer to becoming reality and soon we can see the data on our computers in 3D, 4D and 5D. We will enjoy Virtual Reality on our 360 X-Box in our living rooms. Great, great grandchildren will be about to meet their past ancestors and watch a holographic video. We will communicate in video conferencing with the image of the other people sitting next us, but not actually there. All this is on its way and even more, as the applications are endless indeed.

It therefore stands to reason that these technologies will be used for intimate relationships and other innate characteristics of the human species, whether they are psychological need, humanly lustful desires or coping with the stress incurred when a loved on is away or has pasted on. Think on this.

The Speed of the Day

Filed under: Hall Of Health — @ 3:11 am

There is a direct correlation between the speed of your early morning hours and the speed of the rest of your day. I noticed this connection some 10 years ago when I started working with my first coach. She asked me how I spent my early mornings and if I had a morning ritual that I enjoyed. I confessed that I usually hit the ground running, grabbing a cup of coffee and heading into my home office to launch into whatever hit me first. The only ritual was seeing how fast I could get moving before my then very small son woke up and needed my attention.

When she advised that I create a morning ritual that sustained rather than drained me, I eagerly took on the challenge. From that point forward I completely reinvented my morning routine. While I still had the coffee, I spent the first 45 minutes or so relaxing, reading inspirational or instructional material. I meditated. I walked. And I didn’t even move toward my office until 8:30 or so. The changes that began to unfold in my life were amazing. And to this day, I honor those early morning minutes as among the most precious of the day.

I share this story with you because often, when I am coaching someone, or meet someone at a presentation or speech, they tell me how crazy their life is. They, like I used to, hit the ground running, filling their early morning hours with caffeine, bad news reports, and racing like mad to get wherever it is they need to go, or racing their children wherever it is they need to go. Maybe you can relate.

If you want to transform your harried life, I recommend that you start by transforming the first hour of your day. Create a morning ritual that soothes rather than stimulates, sustains rather than drains. Spend some time waking up your body with a few gentle stretches. Allow your mind to rest on thoughts of peace, inspiration or timeless wisdom rather than a repeat of the daily doom and gloom reports. Plan your next day’s wardrobe the night before so you’re not rushing to do a load of laundry or ironing in the mornings. And teach your family to respect and honor your quiet time.

There’s a saying in leadership that “the speed of the leader is the speed of the gang.” The corollary in terms of lifestyle is: “the speed of the morning is the speed of the day.” Experiment this week with altering your morning routine. Even if you can only spend 15 minutes in quiet before the day begins, watch how the seed of peace takes root in the rest of your day. Mentally return to those few peaceful moments when you feel rushed or hurried during the day and that peace will again permeate your mind and spirit.

Gandhi said it well when he commented: “There has to be more to life than increasing its speed.”

Dancing to the Tune of that Elusive Dollar

Filed under: Hall Of Health — @ 3:36 pm

Setting up a business that requires you to be young and fit enough to operate and excel, but really also requires some serious investment and business experience can be a challenge. Dancing for profit is always going to be difficult.

Fear not - you should start slowly with a minimum risk to your finances. Here is our suggestion for you:

  • Decide what kind of dancing you wish to offer and ensure that there is a demand for this within your neighbourhood. For example hip hop or salsa is not going to be too popular within a retirement area.
  • Offer your services as a trainer offering this dancing in a fitness studio, local club or sports club. This will give you some source of income and some exposure to your market.
  • Hire a suitable room or studio for a period of a month and then advertise a special dancing course for this period. Make it something catchy like “Salsa for the Nervous”, “Hip Hop for the Happy” - what ever your dancing area is. Dancing for stay at home mums or weight loss seekers is always popular.
  • Contact all of your friends, people you have danced with in the past (don’t do it during your dancing classes you are giving above), your hairdresser, doctor, mailman etc and tell them about it.
  • Get some flyers made up announcing these classes - make it a very catchy name and a great price. Emphasise that you can only take so many!
  • Distribute the flyers all around your area - ask to leave them at the colleges, doctors, restaurants, clubs, hairdressers etc - anywhere you think that your potential clients will be!
  • Tell the local radio and newspapers about this great new idea you are starting.
  • Review the classes with your customers and ask them what else they would like to learn.
  • Make sure you get payment at the start of the class.
  • Test this out with several different types of classes.

  • As you become more experienced and knowledgeable about what people want - your empire will expand and you can hire the room for longer and more often. Your success will tell you when you can move onto your own studio.
  • Lastly enjoy yourself dancing to dollar!

The basis of a good business is a good service aimed at people who want to buy it and can afford it - solve this puzzle and you have a good business.

This is a great way to get experience, try out the market

Cheap Gaming Laptops Most Likely on the Way

Are you able to recall the era when laptops for gaming were not so widespread? Though they didn’t sell a big amount they still produced the most in comparison to other types of notebook. They were the type of notebook everyone craved but the one they just were unable to purchase. Perhaps they were not the most practical however I still think they were the best laptop computers. Even though they did get people excited I do not think they sold in volumes because few people actually buy laptop computers that are costly. Sales will increase though now that global companies are getting into the sector.

These laptop computers have a particular price range and these companies are aware they do not have to be price competitive in this sector. Its definitely a great option to bigger gross profits. International Brands of that size are aware they can get buyers to buy laptop computers at any price providing they represent it well. I think littler manufacturers are very perturbed regarding this. With the resources at their disposal they can easily get rid of littler competition. In addition buyers just look to trust larger companies greater. The laptops are surprisingly very good indeed. This is a major opportunity the littler retailers need to use to their benefit. Consumers like the service to configure as they can specify what’s most valuable to them. Typically this kind of buyer is in the know in regards to the technology and can effortlessly evaluate configurations. More often than not the components mean a lot a more when compared to the looks for these types of people.

For the customer, this holds lots of benefits. I would forecast a few price wars happening in this sectorlater on. I predict that with a large degree of uncertainty however.Prices will possibly remain consistently high as there are constantly new notebooks being introduced. The larger companies have already launched their own gaming notebook range, so all we can do now is sit back and observe.

    The Stomach Vacuum

Filed under: Hall Of Health — @ 4:55 am

    Copyright 2006 Karen Sessions

The vast majority of people who engage in countless sets and repetitions of abdominal exercises such as crunches, leg lifts, and twists fail to see dramatic improvement, as if something is lacking. Are you among those who religiously train your abdominals, yet still fight the distending gut syndrome?

I can teach you a simple technique to reduce your midsection in as little as three weeks! By incorporating this technique, with your regular abdominal training and proper diet, it will reduce the size of your waist, and help to give you a carved midsection!

    Prerequisites

This is exciting news, but it does come along with some prerequisites which are, pre-established clean eating habits, adequate water intake, and a low to moderate body fat percentage. Depending on how you hold your weight, anywhere from 12 to 15% is acceptable.

    Some Background

Before we jump in over our heads let’s discuss the reason behind this specialized technique. This exercise I am speaking of is called the stomach vacuum. Relax, we are not going to pump or vacuum your stomach. This isn’t a liposuction technique. The stomach vacuum was widely used in the early days of bodybuilding with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Corey Everson and has become what I refer to as, “the forgotten abdominal exercise.”

Have you ever noticed how slim, trimmed, hard, and defined the physiques of bodybuilders were in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s? Many of today’s top-level bodybuilding competitors have a distended midsection. This could be due to the drug abuse problem and growth hormone, but it is also connected to the fact that many bodybuilders have simply skipped over an important training tactic.

The Inner and Outer Abdominals The abdominal region is composed of internal and external muscles. The external muscles are known as the rectus abdominus and the external obliques.

Crunches cause the rectus abdominus to flex. Crunching forward a third of the way up targets the entire rectus abdominus. Once the movement goes past this active zone your hip flexors come into play, taking emphasis off your abdominals.

Your obliques are targeted to a greater degree when any twisting action takes place, such as twisting crunches where you bring your elbow to the opposite knee.

    The Real Inner Abdominals

The transversus abdominus and lumbar multifidus are the inner abdominal muscles. These muscles are rarely discussed, and are the most neglected. These muscles lie beneath the rectus abdominus, and external obliques.

The inner abdominal muscles support posture, and control deep breathing during power movements, such as heavy squats. They are the muscles responsible for back support. Since they are rarely targeted they are often weaker.

By building a stronger inner abdominal wall you can limit and relieve back pain, improve posture, create a tighter midsection, and add explosive power to your training.

The Benefits of the Stomach Vacuum

The stomach vacuum is an isometric contraction of the transversus abdominus. As previously stated, a stronger transversus abdominus can create a stronger valsalva maneuver (the powerful exhale necessary to contract a muscle during an intense workload).

The stomach vacuum is one of the best exercises you can perform to shrink your waistline in a very short amount of time. Many people can lose an inch or two from their midsection in a little as three to four weeks with this technique, provided the prerequisites are met. Also, building this area of the abdominal muscle will help you gain more control over your abs, and assist you better in explosive lifts. Stomach vacuums take practice, but they are extremely effective.

How to Execute the Stomach Vacuum

To execute the stomach vacuum stand upright and place your hands on your hips or over your head, and then exhale all the air out of your lungs, completely. As you exhale, expand your chest and bring your stomach in as far as possible, and hold it in. Do Not Hold Your Breath! To be blunt, simply suck in your gut. Visualize trying to touch your navel to your backbone.

This is an isometric contraction, like flexing your biceps. You breathe normally while flexing your biceps and you should breathe normally while executing the stomach vacuum.

    Sets and Reps

Counting reps with this exercise is bit different. One isometric contraction of “X” seconds is one repetition. For example, if you suck your gut in for 10 seconds, that’s one repetition. If you do that two more times, that’s 3 sets of 10 repetitions.

Now, before you go saying things like, “‘you can’t spot reduce,” “it won’t affect skin elasticity,” and “you can’t get abs by holding your breath,” you have mistaken the point of this article. This article is not claiming to do such miraculous things. It’s not about holding your breath or spot reduction. What this exercise CAN do is strengthen and stabilize your core so you have more control over your abdominals, and prevent the loose belly hangover from an underdeveloped transversus abdominus.

There are macho men out there who think since this exercise doesn’t require slinging hundreds of pounds of iron that it’s not effective. Nonetheless, the transversus abdominus is a muscle and it needs to be trained. Just because it doesn’t take a fancy machine or an ego-boosting exercise to do it doesn’t mean it’s less effective. Effective training is about intensity and form, not macho egos, and grunting under a stack of plates.

Training Guide for the Stomach Vacuum: Training days for the stomach vacuum are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, or every other day. While the abs can be trained more than other muscle groups, they still need their rest. Therefore, doing them daily won’t be as effective as you may think it would be.

    Week #1 - 20 Seconds - 3 Sets Week #2 - 30 Seconds - 3 Sets Week #3 - 40 Seconds - 3 sets

The idea is to keep progressing in seconds (reps) or sets. You can set your own start point and progression phase. Eventually try to work up 4 sets of a full minute.

As an added bonus, you can use the stomach vacuum when doing your regular abdominal work. Focus on pulling in on the transversus abdominus as you do your abdominal work. Simply do this by pulling in your stomach as far as possible and flex your groin muscles, as if you are trying to stop the flow of urine.

    Conclusion to Stomach Vacuums

Once mastered, the stomach vacuum can be performed in a standing, kneeling, seated, and lying position. Now you don’t have an excuse to avoid abdominal training if you are stuck in traffic or can’t get away from your desk.

The Theory behind Today’s Stylistic LCD Tellies

Filed under: Hardware Hub — @ 5:15 am

When Panasonic at the outset began producing a brand new flagship array of TVs in about the year two thousand, their goals were:

(+) To offer video quality so genuinely, in order that television viewers would accept that they are not just seeing but really experiencing the action.

(+) To reinforce the belief of “truly being there” by plunging the television spectators in unequalled sound.

(+) To improve the spectators experience by designing a glossy, classy, but entirely unobtrusive telly that will not distract the viewer from the action happening on-screen.

(+) To make using the television as simple as actually possibly while also getting the most out of its networking facilities.

(+) To reproduce this ambition, the new range was approved to be regarded as VIERA: representing a new VIsion ERA. The end product became the biggest selling & prize-winning VIERA selection of Plasma & LCD televisions that are in stores nowadays, awarding you the following improvements:

Picture performance: Equipped with Panasonic’s exclusive V.Real II / V.Real Pro II equipment - the conclusion of months & months of dedicated investigation & improvement covering the extent of the broadcast chain from specialised broadcast cameras all the through to tellies in our bedrooms - every VIERA delivers visuals of superb realism & beauty & places you firmly at the nucleus of the feature film! Why not visit Sound and Vision Online, to find cheap Panasonic 26 inch LCD Televisions.

Super-authentic sound: Featuring up-to-date digital tuners and various super-slim unobtrusive speakers all enclosed within the shiny & slender body of the VIERA itself, V.Audio sound engrosses you within the on-screen reality.

Shiny but unassuming design: From the screen to the cabinet stand, VIERA has refined flowing lines that are nearly organic in look. This innovative styling has been the characteristic of VIERA tellies since their launch & offers the sense of more or less a “floating” display - that doesn’t distract you from the on-screen world. What’s more, VIERA tellies have been manufactured from the ground up with the surroundings carefully in mind & feature refillable bamboo speakers, lead free construction, and best practice production.
